Lang Lang graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States and received honorary doctorates from many top universities at home and abroad, such as St. Peter's College, Oxford University, the Royal College of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, the Central Conservatory of Music, etc. He is honoured as 'the brightest star in classical music' by the New York Times and 'the most successful pianist in the world today' by Germany's Die Welt newspaper.


Lang Lang has got plenty of music awards and realized the grand slam in the classical music world. He is the first Chinese pianist to cooperate with all the world-class orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the five major American symphony orchestras, and has given solo recitals in all the world's famous concert halls. He has been invited to perform for the Grammy for four times, and for the CCTV Spring Festival gala for six times. He also performed in many important occasions, such as the World Cup Opening Concert in 2006, the Beijing Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in 2008, the United Nations Day Concert in 2014, and the Nobel Prize Ceremony in 2007 and 2009. He has been honored as Grammy Ambassador in China, Ambassador of the Palace of Versailles in France, Image Ambassador of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, New York City's first Cultural Tourism Ambassador, and Cultural Promotion Ambassador of the 2022 Winter Olympics. Lang Lang has made the classical music, a kind of minority art, sweep the international music world.


With the awards and honors won, Lang Lang continues to spread his passion and love to the world through music, and devotes himself to education and charity. In 2013, Lang Lang was named the UN Messenger of Peace. In 2012 and 2018, Lang Lang Art World was established in Shenzhen and Hangzhou respectively. In 2008, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation was established in New York, making efforts in philanthropy all over the world over the past decade. In 2018, with his passion for philanthropy and 10-year philanthropic experience, Lang Lang founded the Lang Lang Arts Foundation in Beijing, contributing to better music education for Chinese children.
