Traditional culture is the root that nourishes national art and the source of inspiration for artistic creation. What kind of inspiration will be generated when Chinese traditional culture meets modern art?
On the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the construction of the Forbidden City, Lang Lang Arts Foundation, together with Weibo, launched a theme activity 'A Play to Salute Chinese Traditional Culture'. The activity collected original music works and children's piano performance video works that celebrate the beauty of Chinese culture, promoting the Chinese excellent culture and art aesthetic education for children.
The event was officially launched on Weibo in October, 2020. As an important sub-venue of the theme activity of 'National Tide, Oriental Beauty', it called on more people, especially children, to learn and feel the beauty of traditional Chinese art and spread Chinese excellent culture in the form of music.
More than 12.4 million views had been received on the topic of 'A Play to Salute Chinese Traditional Culture'. Many museums, including the Nanyue King Museum of the Western Han Dynasty and Sichuan Museum, as well as music KOLs, have released quality music and videos on Weibo, with over 220,000 views and over 500 interactions on a single video.
Lang Lang Arts Foundation has been committed to the popularization of music and art education. This theme activity is a beneficial attempt to publicize art education. In the future, the Foundation will explore more innovative ways of arts education through a variety of themed activities.
